A crushing victory for Team Brière over Team Dobson

Team Brière emerged victorious from its first game of the 2024 QMJHL Cup with a 10-0 shutout over Team Dobson at the Centre d’excellence Sports Rousseau in Boisbriand.

In the win, goaltender Jacob Sass recorded the first shutout of the tournament, making a total of 20 saves. Forwards Noah Florent and Enzo Lottin were the game’s top two point-getters, with Florent notching four assists and Lottin notching a hat trick and an assist.

From the start, Team Brière delivered a strong performance to return to the locker room with a 4-0 lead. The scorers of the first period’s four goals were Enzo Lottin, twice, as well as Aiden Kirkwood and Benjamin Olivier.

Despite the lead, Team Brière maintained its grip by exploiting its speed and physical play, scoring two more goals in the middle frame. Enzo Lottin scored his third of the game, before teammate Justin Thibault added his first.

In the third period, Team Brière continued to both impose its rhythm and increase its lead over Team Dobson by scoring four more goals. This time, the scorers were William Yared, Niko El Khouri, Thibault with his second of the game and Justin Gagnon.

In the end, Team Brière capitalized twice on five power play opportunities, while Team Dobson was unable to find the back of the net on both of its chances with an extra skater.

Team Brière will look for a second consecutive victory tomorrow when they take on Team Bourque at 12:00 pm ET. Meanwhile, Team Dobson will be looking for its first win when it takes on Team Lecavalier at 5:45 pm ET.
