Jamie Jaillet scored 2:39 into overtime, and Team Beauvillier erased a 0-3 deficit to defeat Team Benoît 4-3, securing their spot in the 2026 QMJHL Cup final on Friday night at the Centre Gervais Auto in Shawinigan.

Max Brien, who was one of the architects of this comeback with a goal and an assist, forced a turnover in his zone to create a 2-on-1 situation. He then initiated a nice give-and-go with Robert DeKleine, which allowed Jaillet to finish into an open net.

Team Beauvillier secured its spot in the final with five points in the preliminary round standings, thanks to two wins (one in regulation, one in overtime) and one loss.

In addition to Brien, Dylan Currie also finished the night with a goal and an assist. On the losing side, Tommy Leroux was named Player of the Game with two assists.

Félix Théorêt scored the first goal of the game in the first period, but it was really in the second that Team Benoît took the lead with effective counterattacks and an excellent effort.

Domenico Borsellino first made it 2-0 with a superb shot into the top corner, then Joey Bégin fired off a good shot following a 2-on-1 rush to give the Reds a comfortable lead.

But the Blacks woke up, scoring three goals in the span of 3:01 in the latter half of the third period. Currie and Brien first narrowed the gap, before Nathan Frost tied the game with 4:15 remaining in the period.

Currie thus finishes round robin play as the leading scorer for Team Beauvillier, with five points in three games, followed by Brien with three.

Team Benoît (1-1-1) will face the loser of the match between Team Gaudreau and Team Girard. Leroux was his team’s leading scorer during the round-robin, with four points, while Julien Bergeron and Borsellino each tallied three.
